Full Itinerary DETAILED ITINERARY >> ITINERARY IN BRIEF >>

Day 1: Arrive Iguazu Airport, transfer to hotel

Greeting at the airport and transfer to your hotel.

The rest of the day is at leisure.

Note: if you arrive before noon we can arrange for additional half-day tours (not included, additional fees apply).

Declared "World Heritage Site" by the UNESCO. Located on the border of the Brazilian state of Parana and the Argentine province of Misiones, the falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The waterfall system consists of 275 falls along 2.7 kilometers (1.67 miles). Some of the individual falls are up to 82 meters (269 ft) in height, though the majority are about 64 meters (210 ft). Two thirds of the falls are within Argentine territory. About 900 meters of the 2.7-kilometer length does not have water flowing over it. The edge of the basalt cap recedes only 3 mm (0.1 in) per year. The water of the lower Iguazu collects in a canyon that drains into the Parana River at Argentina, shortly downstream from the Itaipu Dam.

Meals included: n/a
Mid-Range Accommodations: La Cantera Lodge

Day 2: Tour the Argentine side of the falls (B)

Full day visit to the falls (argentine side) and to "Devil's Gorge". Visit to the upper and lower paths around the waterfalls surrounded by lush jungles abundant in plush-crested jays, reddish-bellied

parakeets, toucans and coatis.

UPPER PATH: A 500-meter walk (45 minutes), with great views of the Two Sisters, Bosseti, Adam and Eve, Bernabe Mendez, Mbigua and San Martín falls from the upper part.

LOWER PATH: 1300-meter walk (1 hour and 30 minutes), to get a different view of the falls, from above.

DEVIL'S THROAT: Board a little train that will take you for 4 km to the Devil's Throat Station, surrounding the upper part of the Iguazu River. Once arrived, take a walkway to the balcony of Devil's throat (Garganta del Diablo in Spanish). This is a U-shaped, 82-meter-high, 150-meter-wide and 700-meter-long (490 by 2300 feet) cataract, the most impressive of all, that marks the border between Argentina and Brazil.

Great Adventure Boat Ride:

Inside the Iguazu National Park (Argentina), big trucks will take you to explore 6 kilometers in the humid subtropical forest, as far as the banks of the Iguazu River, downstream from the Falls. Once at the shore, board special zodiac boats for a ride to get direct and wet contact with the mighty Iguassu Falls. Crossing one mile of rapids, the boat gets into the devil's throat canyon approaching the water falls, ending the adventure in front of San Martin island. Return to shore. Catwalks will take you back to your vehicle. Duration: 2 hours

Meals included: Breakfast
Mid-Range Accommodations: La Cantera Lodge

Day 3: Tour the Brazilian side of the falls (B)

Arrival at the Visitors Center, at the entrance of the Iguassu National Park, about 10 kilometers away from downtown Foz do Iguazu. Short stop to see the exhibition and continue onto the National Park, along a paved road that will take us to the magnificent Iguassu Falls. Start a walking tour along the catwalk, measuring one kilometer of easy hike, with several panoramic views of the Falls and a close-up to the Devil's Throat.

It is a completely different tour when compared to the Argentine side, since you get in front of the falls, as if you were on a balcony. We recommend you to see the falls from both sides. The tour ends at the upper part of Iguassu Falls accessed through a panoramic elevator from where you get to a lookout point with a view to the upper Iguassu River.

Visit the lovely Bird Park before heading back to your hotel.

Mid-Range Accommodations: La Cantera Lodge

Day 4: Transfer to Iguazu Airport for departure (B)

Transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
