At the take out, enjoy lunch, after which your driver will meet you and take you to the serene Selva Bananito Lodge. Selva Bananito is an extraordinary example for ecotourism: nature and adventure tourism services nestled in a pristine region of Costa Rica’s Caribbean area, the Talamanca Mountains. The private reserve, Selva Bananito, is an important buffer zone or transition area to the “International Park La Amistad”. Day 6 : Early morning departure to the beautiful islands Bocas del Toro

Visiting: Bocas del Toro Islands

Today a very early land transfer will take you to Almirante in Panama, with assistance at teh border, from where you will aboard a boat to the lodge in Bastimentos Islands on the Bocas del Toro archipelago. Overnight in Bocas del Toro at your choice of lodges: Eclypse del Mar (our standard lodge), Al Natural Lodge (for US$100/person extra) or the remarkable Tranquillo Bay Eco-Adventure Lodge (for $1000/person extra).

Eclypse del Mar: This is an ideal property for couples. It's very romantic, with bungalows right over the water hosting 4 poster beds and billowing sheets as the warm sea winds course through open french doors facing the water. Besides unique accommodations, the property also offers wonderful excursions everyday and personalized service. It's situated over the water relatively close to Bocas Town and Bastimentos, so travelers who enjoy varied dining and more time in these Caribbean villages will also enjoy stays here!

Tranquilo Bay Eco-Adventure Lodge: This is one of my favorite eco-lodges in all of Central America for birders, lovers of sea adventures, families and people who simply and truly want to get away from it all. Tranquilo Bay is remote and quiet, with just 6 deluxe air-conditioned cabanas perched on a small hilltop, surrounded by pristine rainforest, mangroves, and sea. Right from the lodge you can go on fantastic guided nature walks (with excellent birding) plus enjoy snorkeling and sea kayaking in the lush mangrove forests and tranquil bays full of dynamic coral beds. The Lodge prides itself on it’s broad selection of unique optional guided activities. For example, on a free day here, you can hike the lush cloud forest of Bosque Palo Seco high in the Talamanca range teeming with jungle wildlife, then return to the lodge and enjoy the moonrise over the Zapatilla Cayes. There are few places on Earth where this diversity is possible. Other activities include visits to the blissful Zapitillas Keys, sea kayaking trips further afield to idyllic beaches and cliffs, trips to the national park for wildlife viewing, and more at extra charge. The supplement to stay here is $1000 per person. The includes all meals and beverages.

Al Natural: A magical place in complete harmony with nature. This is an eco-lodge that takes it's commitment to the environment very seriously. Private bungalows are stilt houses (built in a traditional Carib style) and are situated right on the beach. They provide occupants with uninterrupted views of the water and the lush flora that surrounds each unit. Similar to Tranquilo Bay, it's situated on the removed southeast corner of Bastimente Island, about 40 minutes by boat from Bocas Town.
