Day 1 : Arrive Dambulla, visit Habarana

Visiting: Dambulla

On Arrival meet your English speaking chauffer guide. Depart to the hub of the cultural triangle, the town of Habarana. In the evening acclimatise to the tropics and relax after the long flight with a leisurely walk along the hotels nature trail. If youíre up for it the option of an Elephant back ride is available to you.

Day 2 : Tour of Anuradhapura and Ritigala

Visiting: Anuradhapura

Leave in the morning for the ancient city of Anuradhaoura. En-route, visit to Ritigala, lush vegetation including gigantic buttressed trees and great lianas which twist themselves around the trees much like large Pythons, make up the backdrop of the fascinating ruins of an ancient stone monastery.

Day 3 : Morning optional Hiriwaduna Trek or bird watching excursion, afternoon jeep safari to Minneriya or Kaudulla national park

Visiting: Dambulla

Spend the morning at leisure, the calm and quiet will complete the ambience whilst you sit in the pool.

If youíre feeling energetic and thirst for adventure a nature trek also known as The Hiriwaduna Trek can be organized. This trek allows you to understand village life such as their livelihood and mode of transport, the bullock cart! If you are a bird enthusiast and wish to see natures creations close up a bird watching excursion on a catamaran is an option.

In the afternoon, a jeep safari to Minneriya or Kaudulla national park (depending on the time of the year)

Day 4 : Climb the Rock Fortress in Sigiriya, drive to Kandy, afternoon city tour

Visiting: Sigiriya

Leave after an early breakfast for Sigiriya and climb the Rock Fortress. Visit a Batik Shop in Sigiriya. Proceed to the hill capital Kandy stopping en route at a spice garden for a short trek to see spices growing in their natural habitat. Arrive in Kandy and commence on a city tour including the much revered Temple of the Tooth Relic which houses a tooth that belonged to Buddha himself. A gem shop,too, can be visited in Kandy.

Day 5 : Free Day (optional boating on Mahaveli River, Royal Botanical Gardens, or tour of 3 temples)

Visiting: Kandy

In the afternoon relax or take a walk through the bustling Kandy town, a perfect way to take in the Kandyan citadel and to experience the crimson sunset by the lake as the sun dips below the mountains which surround the town. Simply stroll by the lake and soak up the atmosphere. Engage in more sightseeing of Kandy including a visit to the bazaar area, Arts and Craft workshops and a Batik manufacturer to see skilled villagers.

Three optional excursions are available for you: A boat ride down the Mahaveli River, visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens or a tour of the 3 temple loops (Gadaladeniya, Embekke, Lankathilaka).

Day 6 : Visit Pinnawala elephant orphanage, drive to beaches of Negombo

Visiting: Negombo

After breakfast leave to the western beach coast of Sri Lanka. Enroute visit the Pinnawala elephant orphanage. Itís an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. It houses the largest herd of elephants in captivity in the world. Arrive in Negombo one of the most beautiful beach areas in Sri Lanka and relax.

Day 7 : Departure

Visiting: Negombo

Your tour has come to an end. Head off for a quick drive to the airport to catch your departing flight.
