Day 1 : Arrival in Quito, Ecuador

Visiting: Quito, Ecuador

Pick up at the airport and transfer to your Quito hotel.

Day 2 : Colonial Quito Tour and the Equator

Visiting: Quito, Ecuador

Today enjoy a full day tour of Quito. In the morning. we'll visit Colonial Quito with its historic churches and government buildings. After lunch (not included, but available on request), we'll visit El Mitad Del Mundo or "The Middle of the World," a fascinating monument on the equator. Once you're through touring the highlights of Quito, we'll return to your Quito hotel where you'll overnight.

Day 3 : Otavalo Market and City or Cotopaxi Park Day Tour

Visiting: Quito, Ecuador

Enjoy a day tour in the Ecuadorian highlands with lunch.

OPTION 1: Your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and give you a brief introduction to the hacienda, rose production, and the famous Otavalo Market. Your first stop will be the hacienda that grows some of the most beautiful roses in the world. After lunch, drive to Otavalo for an afternoon of shopping.

OPTION 2: Your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you south to the Cotopaxi National Park. Enjoy easy hiking and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Return to Quito in the late afternoon/ early evening for your overnight.

Day 4 : Arrive Galapagos/ PM Activity

Visiting: Quito and Galapagos, Ecuador

This morning, transfer to the airport for your departing flight.

Depart from the mainland to Baltra (a two and half hour flight from Guayaquil). Travelers are picked up at the Baltra or airport by the ship guides and taken to the pier to board your vessel, either one of the Coral ships or the Legend or another craft (there are many boats to choose from: contact us for the best options for when you want to travel).

Bartolome/ dry landing. After your welcome cocktail and a chance to get situated on board the board, we'll enjoy our first activity of the trip. Upon landing on the island, passengers will see classic volcanic formations like lava bombs, spatter, and cinder cones. After a hike to the summit you'll be awed by the view of the surrounding islands, including the eroded tuff cone of Pinnacle Rock. During the hike to the summit, travelers will often see marine iguanas, lava lizards, tiquilla, lava cactus, Scalecia tree and others representative plants, animals, and birds of the island. In addition, visitors will be able to snorkel around the bay which offers good chances to see the Galapagos penguin, sea turtles, and white tipped sharks from a safe distance.

Day 5 : Explore the Galapagos Islands

Visiting: Galapagos Islands

Urbina Bay (Isabela)/ wet landing. Travelers will visit the fossil beach and coral area. Depending on the season you may be able to watch giant tortoises, land iguanas and flightless cormorants. After the walk we will have time for snorkeling.

Fernandina (Espinosa Point)/ wet landing. Guests will visit the volcanic ash beach and coral area. Depending on the season you may be able to view giant tortoises, land iguanas and flightless cormorants. After the walk we will have time for snorkeling.

Day 6 : Explore the Galapagos Islands

Visiting: Galapagos Islands

Santiago (Egas Port)/ wet landing. This morning, we'll land on a beach of dark sand (remnants of volcanic ash). Most of the landscape is comprised of overlapping layers of rocks and lava flows. Here you can spot a number of birds, including great blue herons, striated herons, yellow-crowned night herons, and American oystercatchers.

Passengers will also likely see marine iguanas grazing on green algae beds alongside red sally light-foot crabs. There is a colony of fur-seals swimming in pools along the shore. This is a place where you can swim or snorkel and look for squid, starfish, and a variety of colorful tropical fish.

Rabida (Jervis)/ wet landing. The volcano-formed beach is dark red and often frequented by sea lions. It's considered the geographic center of Galapagos because it has the most diverse volcanic rocks on the Islands. You?ll hike to a salt water lagoon, where with luck flamingos can sometimes be found.

July through September is a good time to observe brown pelicans nesting in the salty bushes. Boobies and 9 species of Darwin's finches can also be observed year-round.

An alternative to a land visit is you can take a ride along the reefs in a dinghy, as well as snorkel from the boat.

Day 7 : Explore the Galapagos Islands

Visiting: Galapagos Islands

Santa Cruz (Charles Darwin Research Station). Here we will be able to visit the giant tortoises that are part of the reproduction program. Visitors can also admire the prickly-pear cactus forest and many land birds. Later on, you'll have some free time to walk around town and shop for gifts for yourself and loved ones.

Santa Cruz (Highlands). Travelers can trek through the highlands of Santa Cruz and visit Cerro Chato, a natural environment where we will be able to observe the famous giant tortoises.

Additionally, travelers can walk inside the dormant lava tubes for a unique insiders view of the lava formations.

Day 8 : AM Activity / Depart the Galapagos

Visiting: Galapagos and Guayaquil, Ecuador

Santa Cruz (Bachas Beach)/ wet landing. This beach is located on the northern side of Santa Cruz Island. Here we can encounter a multitude sea birds, marine iguanas, sea turtles, and have the opportunity to swim on the white-sand beach.

Afterward, we'll return to the boat, undergo check out formalities, and transfer to Baltra's airport in time to connect with your flight to Guayaquil.

Upon arrival, greeting at airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 9 : Arrive in Lima

Visiting: Guayaquil, Ecuador and Lima, Peru

Pick up at your hotel and transfer to your departing flight from Guayaquil.

Arrive Lima, welcome and transfer to your Lima hotel. With an early arrival, optional tours are available on request to visit modern and colonial Lima. There are also many museums and private collections plus a number of other unique day tours. Overnight in Lima.

Day 10 : Fly from Lima to Cusco, afternoon city tour and nearby ruins

Visiting: Lima and Cusco, Peru

Transfer to the airport to board your one hour flight to Cusco, center of the Inca world. Meet and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the morning free to acclimatize to the altitude (3,400 meters /11,400 feet). An afternoon tour of the city and nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenko and Pucapucara will educate you on the history of this astonishing center of the Inca Empire. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 11 : Free day in Cusco to explore the city

Visiting: Cusco, Peru

Free Day in Cusco. The tourist ticket provides many optional sites to visit. Overnight Cusco.

Popular options: Half-day river rafting on the Urubamba River, full-day mountain biking, hiking to Huchuy Qosqo, or a tour to Maras and Moray.

Day 12 : Full day tour of the Sacred Valley: Pisac & Ollantaytambo village and ruins

Visiting: Cusco, Sacred Valley, Peru

Departing from Cusco, we will drive through Sacred Valley where we will spend a full day visiting Pisac market and ruins and, in the afternoon, Ollantaytambo village and ruins. Overnight in Ollantaytambo.

Day 13 : Vistadome train to Machu Picchu & guided tour of ruins

Visiting: Urubamba, Ollanta, Machu Picchu, Peru

We transfer you from the hotel in the Sacred Valley to Ollanta train station in order to take the Vistadome train that brings us to the town of Aguas Calientes, near Machu Picchu. Join your guide for the shuttle to Machu Picchu and a guided tour of the famous citadel. Afternoon hiking on your own, or return to Aguas Calientes to visit the local craft market and village and hot springs baths. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 14 : Machu Picchu on your own and afternoon return to Cusco

Visiting: Machu Picchu & Cusco, Peru

Today, you may return to Machu Picchu to explore these extraordinary Inca remains on your own (optional second shuttle bus and entrance to Machu Picchu are extra). Get there early in the morning for good pictures (without the crowds), climb Huayna Picchu (ticket required) or hike to the sungate (Inti Punku)(ticket not required). Lunch on your own. Return to Aguas Calientes for the late afternoon Vistadome train that takes you back to Cusco, transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 15 : Transfer to airport for flight to Lima

Visiting: Cusco and Lima, Peru

Transfer to airport for your flight to Lima or elsewhere and assistance with any connections anywhere in Peru.
