Southeast Asia
Overview
The Doi Chiang Dao mountain range is north of Chiang Mai and is a great extension for travelers interested in the mountains and local ethnic hill tribes of northern Thailand.
On this trek you'll hike near along the Mae Tang River valley and visit an elephant training center. Overnights are spent as guests of a local village family and in a simple bamboo hut. Cap off your trek with a ride in the valley on an elephant!
Groups depart Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with a maximum of 8 participants. Private groups can depart any day.
We can also arrange for a short 2-day trek.
We recommend combining this trek with a few days in Chiang Mai. After or before your trek consider spending time in Bangkok or on a beach!
