The major inter-regional hub for Southern Africa is OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. There are a number of airport and centrally located hotels we can assist you with if your flights require you to spend a night there, which is fairly common. We can also help with private transfers. Johannesburg has a number of interesting attractions and is a leading city of Africa however most travelers stay there as an obligatory stop due to air schedules.
From Johannesburg you can reach all of the major cities of the region: Cape Town (CPT), Maun (MUB), Victoria Falls (VFA), Livingstone (LVI), Windhoek (WDK), and more. There are daily flights to all of these regional airports.

Victoria Falls
The two airports for Victoria Falls are Livingstone Airport (LVI) in Zambia and Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) in Zimbabwe. There are daily flights from Johannesburg to both airports. If you are flying from Kruger (MQP), there are direct flights to Livingstone (LVI) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. For all other days and if you are flying to Victoria Falls (VFA), you will have to overnight in Johannesburg. A yellow fever certificate is required to enter Zambia.
Luggage Restrictions
It is advisable to adhere to the luggage restrictions for both scheduled international, domestic and charter flights: 20kgs (44lbs) on domestic flights, and 20kgs (44lbs) on international flights.
Light aircraft transfers in Botswana have a 15kg luggage restrictions in soft, squashable bags PLUS 5kg of hand luggage. Travelers coming for safaris are advised not to bring hard suitcases as they will not fit on light aircraft. The luggage can have wheels as long as the top of the bag can be squished (a duffel with wheels, for example). You can also bring a soft bag plus a separate wheeled carrier as long as both are within the weight limit. People with overweight luggage will be charged for an extra seat the airplane (about $180).
