Day 1 : Arrive in Cape Town

Visiting: Cape Town

Following arrival in Cape Town, affectionately known as “The Mother City,” you are met by an arrivals manager and transferred to your hotel where you can spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 : Half Day Cape Town including cable car to Table Mountain

Visiting: Cape Town

This morning, come with us on the ultimate 'Mother City' experience, designed to orientate and give you full-color insight into the extraordinary magic of Cape Town. We've chosen iconic buildings, snatches of its history, and experiences unique to this gorgeous cosmopolitan city. First, it's the cable car to the summit of the legendary Table Mountain (weather allowing) and from there, you'll be able to see to the end of our world, including the City and surrounding layout of this southernmost tip of Africa. From there, as time allows, we’ll see more of city and then return to your hotel, with an afternoon free to wander and discover more points of interest.

Day 3 : Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour

Visiting: Cape Town

The Cape of Good Hope near Cape Town is known as the “Fairest Cape” and it surely is! You’ll soon see for yourself where and why it earned its name. Sit back and relax, we’re going to cruise along the exquisite stretch of coastline known as Millionaire’s Paradise from Clifton to Camps Bay, to the exclusive beach hamlet of Llandudno towards the charming working harbor of Hout Bay; if you so choose, you can embark on an up-close-and-personal Seal Island cruise (own account).

Day 4 : Free day in Cape Town

Visiting: Cape Town

Today take time to explore and enjoy the gorgeousness of Cape Town, perhaps taking a long, leisurely stroll along the Victoria and Alfred waterfront, which is home to a wonderful aquarium, buskers, great restaurants, museums, shopping, and more. Couples may want to venture out on a day trip to nearby wine country, while active travelers might want to try some of the fantastic mountain biking in the surrounding mountains or a little shark cage diving in Simon's Town.

Day 5 : Travel to the lovely seaside village of Hermanus

Visiting: Hermanus

Today you'll be picked up at your hotel in Cape Town and transferred to the lovely coastal town of Hermanus. Hermanus is rich in breathtaking scenery; with its unparalleled seaside beauty, modern infrastructure, upmarket shops and endless adventure options, it is no wonder that Hermanus is transformed into a bustling center of activity in-season as well as out-of-season. One of our favorite activities is simply strolling the coastal trail that front the village - wonderful views and great whale watching, in fact this area has been voted one of the top 2 or 3 places in the world to watch whales from land! The southern right whales migrate from their Antarctic feeding areas to breed, care for their young and play in the shallow waters of Walker Bay for 6 months every year, from June to December. Pilot whales, dolphins, seals, and African penguins also call home near Hermanus.

Our value luxury price includes 2 nights at the splendid Harbour House Hotel. Our elite package includes 2 nights at the more remote and legendary Grootbos Private Nature Reserve staying in a 2 bedroom Garden Lodge luxury suite. Day 6 : Whale watching

Visiting: Hermanus

From June through December, Hermanus is among the finest places in the world for whale watching and there's no better way to do that than by boat. Your fees include a whale watching tour that between lasts from 1hr 30m - 3hrs depending on sightings and ocean conditions. During other times of the year, we'll book you on a scenic guided sea kayaking excursion along the coast. Out on the water, below the cliffs, you can enjoy sightings of cape fur seals, penguins, cormorants and other sea birds. Alternatively, although not included, you can go shark cage diving, take in a wine country visit (Creation Wines is highly recommended), go mountain biking, quad biking, or fishing. There's plenty to do and see!

Day 7 : Travel from Hermanus to Knysna / Evening dinner cruise

Visiting: Knysna

This morning, you will be transferred by private van from your hotel in Hermanus to Knysna, a thriving seaside town world-famous for the local delicious oysters. After settling into your hotel, enjoy some leisure time this afternoon before embarking on the John Benn Sunset Cruise at approximately 5 pm. The John Benn is a double-decker floating restaurant offering smooth, calm water lagoon cruises (daily) to see the thundering Knysna Heads in the distance. This is a romantic trip for couples and a truly memorable excursion for families while dining on one of the finest floating restaurants in Knysna.

Day 8 : Start your big 5 safari in a malaria-free game reserve!

Visiting: Malaria-Free Safari Zone

Enjoy a delicious breakfast early this morning before being transferred in a comfortable, private van from beautiful Knysna to your private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. Here, you'll have 3 magical nights to discover some of Africa's most renowned wildlife. While interesting and scenic, this drive can take about 5 hours with stops. Both of our lodges lie in malaria-free zones, making the entire 11-day trip malaria-free!

At Kariega, enjoy open vehicle game drives, guided nature walks, river cruises, canoeing, and private viewing decks, with twice-daily activities included in your fees. Our standard accommodations use the Kariega Main Lodge, which offers families, friends and couples a relaxed and friendly environment to enjoy the African bush. All the 21 unique log chalets are air conditioned, with en-suite bedrooms, satellite television, internet connectivity, and large private viewing decks. Each has a spacious lounge and living area which is great for socializing before retreating to the privacy and comfort of your bedroom.
