Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive Maun, Botswana & fly to first camp
Visiting: Maun, Botswana
Arrive Maun, where you'll be met and assisted to your waiting light aircraft. Fly over the sweeping blues and greens of the Okavango Delta to your first camp.
Arrive at the water camp of your choice where you'll be met by local staff and transferred to your accommodations. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink while learning more about your camp options during a brief camp orientation with management. Enjoy food, a moment to relax and an opportunity to stroll the grounds. This afternoon, following a light snack, enjoy your first activity. Oftentimes there is an opportunity for a wonderful sun-downer drink during the activity. Return, enjoy dinner, and optionally relax by the fire and have a glass of wine under a jaw-dropping blanket of stars.

Adding the Kalahari: if you are interested in a 3-day Kalahari experience, we'd recommend you start it at the beginning of your trip. Our preferred camp is the Kalahari Plains Camp. This is a highly recommended "add-on" especially for experienced safari travelers.

Day 2 : Enjoy a second day & night at a water-oriented camp
Visiting: Okavango Delta, Botswana
Today enjoy more time in Delta, exploring the unique channels and islands by mokoro, boat, and walking. Twice daily activities are included in your fees throughout the safari portion of your trip. In between, you'll enjoy a comfortable siesta back at camp, luxuriating in the deep quiet all around you in this pristine wilderness.
At a water-oriented camp, the focus is on the tranquil nature of your surroundings and learning more about this fascinating habitat rich with amphibians & birds. Larger animals can include red lechwe, hippos, elephants, and the elusive sitatunga antelope.

Day 3 : Fly by light air to a land-oriented Delta camp
Visiting: Moremi Reserve, Botswana
Fly by light air to your next camp, ideally a land-oriented camp. Arrive, transfer, and enjoy a brief camp orientation with management. Here, we'll get our first true taste of Botswana's amazing big game. You'll enjoy a game drive this afternoon in search of the areas remarkable predators and prey. Lions, hyena and leopard are the most commonly encountered big predators, however many camps may also boast wild dogs and cheetah. Buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, impala and more also call this region home. Birding is often amazing as well: Botswana has nearly 600 species in total. Enjoy twice-daily activities here throughout your stay.

Day 4 : Second day & night at a land-oriented Delta camp
Visiting: Moremi Reserve, Botswana
Enjoy a second day in search of the area's big game and rich variety of birdlife.
Customize your safari:
One option is to extend your time here a third night, or fly you to a second land-oriented camp for another 2 nights.
Another option, if you are short on time, is to allow for a three night stay at a "hybrid" camp, a camp in the Delta that features both water- and land- oriented activities. Just tell us what you need and we can easily create a proposal for your consideration.

Day 5 : Fly by light air to a northern Botswana camp
Visiting: Savuti/Linyanti, Botswana
Fly by light air to the north, arriving at the camp of your choice. Overnight here for the next 2 nights.
Northern Botswana features some of Africa's finest camps and wildlife viewing. The two major regions include the Linyanti and the Savuti; in addition, Chobe National Park is also known for it's prolific game and in particular the world's densest elephant population. Lions, elephants, hippos, giraffe, crocs, puku, leopards, wild dogs and more are among the possibilities.

Day 6 : Explore the big game country of northern Botswana
Visiting: Savuti/Linyanti, Botswana
Explore the region in search of its legendary big game, enjoying twice daily activities that are standard and included in your fees.

Day 7 : Fly by light air to the Victoria Falls region
Visiting: Livingstone, Zambia
Today, fly by air to the famed Vic Falls region and overnight at the hotel or lodge of your choice.
This afternoon, enjoy a tour of the famed Victoria Falls, "the smoke that thunders," an unmistakably pivotal experience in your travels to Africa. Here descends one of the natural wonders of the world, while you ascend to one of the peak experiences of your life.
Overnight options abound, however, many travelers prefer the bush-feel of Toka Leya, a luxury tented camp with just 12 tents overlooking the Zambezi River. Falls tours, river cruises, game drives, nature walks, and fishing excursions are all included (twice - daily). Optional activities at extra charge include sunset cruises, helicopter flights, micro-lighting, canoeing, jet boating, and white water rafting.
The River Club is another classic lodge that is popular for travelers. Islands of Siankaba is our favorite premier property, while Maramba River Lodge is an option for budget travelers.

Day 8 : Livingstone, Zambia & Departure
Visiting: Livingstone, Zambia & Departure
Today you'll be picked up from your accommodations and transferred to the airport in time for your onward flight. Alternatively, extend your stay with another night in Livingstone, add a safari exerience in Zimbabwe or Kruger, or continue your trip with a visit to Cape Town. The Kalahari is another outstanding choice to extend on the front end of this particular direction, or we can start this in Victoria Falls and end in the Kalahari. Please contact us for more details.
