Day 1 : Drive to Lake Manyara or Tarangire, afternoon game drive

Visiting: Lake Manyara/Tarangire

Today your safari guide drives you from Moshi (or Arusha) to Lake Manyara (December-March) or Tarangire (June-October) with lunch en route for an afternoon game drive.

Tarangire National Park is famous for its massive elephant herds, healthy lion prides, and evocative baobab trees plus other Africa classics like zebra, giraffes, impala and kudu. Lake Manyara National Park is a scenic gem famous for its forest elephants, hippos, tree-climbing lions, blue monkeys. It also hosts nearly 400 species of birds, including colorful cranes, storks, pelicans, fish eagles, and thousands of flamingos.

Day 2 : Drive to Serengeti, afternoon game drive

Visiting: Serengeti

Drive to the Serengeti for an afternoon game drive in search of the migration (Ndutu area December-March and Moru Kopjes area June-October).

Arguably Africa's greatest national park, the Serengeti (meaning "endless plains") is a massive park and home to a yearly migration of more than a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomsonís gazelle undertaking their long trek to new grazing grounds. In return, a wealth of predators including lions, leopards, cheetah and hyena also inhabit the region.

Day 3 : Serengeti, full day game drive

Visiting: Serengeti

Enjoy a full day game drive in the remarkable Serengeti with a picnic lunch served mid-day.

Day 4 : Drive to Ngorongoro via optional Olduvai Gorge and Maasai village

Visiting: Serengeti, Ngorongoro

Drive from the Serengeti to the scenic Ngorongoro Crater enjoying wildlife viewing along the way. En route, you'll have options to visit the Olduvai Gorge and/or an authentic Maasai village.

Day 5 : Ngorongoro, half day game drive, drive to Lake Natron

Visiting: Ngorongoro

Today, drive approximately 30-60 minutes to the Ngorongoro Crater, where we'll experience the crater on a half-day game drive. The spectacular Ngorongoro Crater is the world largest caldera measuring 600 meters in depth and covering 250 square kilometers in area. Large bull elephants and the endangered black rhino roam the grasslands along with grazing herds of zebra, impala and wildebeest. We'll picnic along one of the lagoons, where we often see game and a host of attractive wetland birds.

This afternoon, drive to Lake Natron. We'll overnight in a classic tented camp surrounded by splendid 360 degree views of an evocative landscape that's more reminiscent of Namibia than northern Tanzania.

Day 6 : Lake Natron, morning game drive, afternoon waterfalls hike

Visiting: Lake Natron

Following breakfast this morning, drive to nearby scenic Lake Natron where will enjoy a naturalist "drive and hike" along the lake shores.

Lake Natron is an almost surreal soda lake, set at an altitude of 610 meters, below the Rift valley escarpment, which offers incredible bird and game viewing. Natron is the only breeding ground for East Africaís millions of flamingos, which usually congregate to breed here between August and October.

We'll return to the camp for lunch. Later this afternoon, we'll enjoy the fantastic canyon hike to the waterfalls. Bring your bathing suits - at the end of the canyon, we'll have the opportunity to jump in and enjoy a refreshing swim through the double cascades.

Day 7 : Drive to Arusha/Moshi/Kilimanjaro Airport

Visiting: Lake Natron

After a leisure breakfast, we'll return to your choice of Moshi, Arusha or the airport with a picnic lunch en-route.
