The Ocean Diamond docks at the pier in every harbor we are visiting. You are free to explore on your own, but most of the stops are in small villages, not big towns, and many of the places we are visiting cannot be reached by foot from the harbor.
The shore excursions allow you to see as much as possible of Iceland during your stay, and you can pick what interests you the most. These day trips are an extra charge..
What we do offer free of charge are our zodiac tours. Throughout the cruise, we offer 2-3 zodiacs tours which usually do not overlap with any of our offered shore excursions. They are just for the fun of a ride, to see some bird life, and explore the harbor area or fjord area from the water side. Usually, those zodiac tours last 45 minutes to 1 hour and are unguided. They are a nice add-on to the day. Those zodiac tours are also weather dependent.
We recommend booking the excursions before the cruise starts as some of the excursions have limited availability. But you can still book the excursions also onboard. Payment is onboard only at the end of the cruise. Payment can be done by credit card or in cash with USD.
All excursions are subject to local weather/ice conditions as well as minimum/maximum numbers of participants. If an excursion is cancelled due to weather conditions or an insufficient number of participants, we reserve the right to provide notification of this at any point prior to the time of departure of the tour in question.
