This is a great day trip for nature lovers! You will see exotic birds such as hummingbirds, toucans, and maybe quetzals. Visit an orchid exhibit and butterfly garden. You will take a cable car into the canopy for a close look at the wildlife, and you can hike and swim in a waterfall. There is also a stop at a chocolate farm.
Lunch is included. Bring a swim suit if you want to swim in the waterfall.

Day 1: Full day at Mindo Cloud Forest (L)
Today's journey will lead you to a lush, vibrant forest just a few hours northwest of Quito.
The adventure begins with a scenic drive towards the Mindo valley. The first stop is a natural reserve, featuring an impressive array of graceful birds and numerous trails to admire gorgeous orchids and colorful butterflies. This serves as the perfect introduction to a day brimming with joyful experiences.
The Butterfly Garden welcomes you with an enchanting showcase of hundreds of vibrant butterflies, offering plenty of photo opportunities to capture these out-of-a-book moments. Here you can observe them, from caterpillars to fully-grown butterflies and learn all about their life cycle.
You will also experience a family-owned cacao farm, where you can learn about the special process of crafting an organic chocolate bar and other delectable cocoa-based products. This up-close learning experience culminates with a delightful sampling of the finished products, especially hand-wrapped for a true artisanal treat.
An exquisite lunch will be served at a local venue.
Later, embark on the "cable car" (chairlift) for an astounding ride up the mountains and hills to behold the stunning beauty of the Cloud Forest. From this elevated vantage point, you may spot colorful toucans and other exotic birdlife. This experience offers a vibrant contrast and a unique perspective of Mindo and its surrounding areas that is difficult to appreciate from ground level.
You will then be transported to your hotel in Quito, marking the end of our services.
