October and April are shoulder season.  You can also travel May-September, but this is winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Most people do this general itinerary:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fly into Santiago and spend a few days<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fly to Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Torres del Paine (Patagonia)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other Tours in Chile (Mendoza, Atacama, Easter Island)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extend the trip to Argentina<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) Fly into SANTIAGO and spend a few days.&nbsp; Things to do:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>City tour<\/strong> of Santiago<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wine tasting<\/strong> &#8211; Day trip (Casablanca or Maipo areas)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coast (<strong>Valparaiso &amp; Vina del Mar<\/strong>) &#8211; Day trip<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/adventureswithinreach.com\/?s=Chile&amp;cat=Santiago\">Tours in Santiago &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) Fly to PUNTA ARENAS or PUERTO NATALES, transfer to Torres del Paine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Puerto Natales is the closest airport to Torres del Paine.  It is a 2 hour drive to the park.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are more flights into Punta Arenas, but it is an extra 3 drive to Puerto Natales.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is worth spending a night in Punta Arenas to do a day trip to see the <strong>Magellanic Penguins<\/strong>, also a cute town.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) TORRES DEL PAINE (Patagonia)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Most people do 5-7 days in the Torres del Paine area. You can do the famous W Trek, or do hikes and other excursions from your lodge. Some lodges are inside the park and some are in Puerto Natales.  From here, you can drive to El Calafate, Argentina via Cerro Castillo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/adventureswithinreach.com\/?s=Chile&amp;cat=Patagonia\">All Tours\/Treks in Patagonia &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/adventureswithinreach.com\/destination\/south-america\/chile\/patagonia-lodging\/\">Patagonia Lodging Options &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4) The top ADD-ONS in Chile (all accessed from Santiago):<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/adventureswithinreach.com\/destination\/trip\/?trip=4-Day-Mendoza\" target=\"_blank\">Mendoza, Argentina<\/a> <\/strong>&#8211;
