{"id":1384,"date":"2011-02-03T19:30:55","date_gmt":"2011-02-03T19:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/withinrch.wordpress.com\/?p=1384"},"modified":"2011-03-29T16:13:11","modified_gmt":"2011-03-29T22:13:11","slug":"new-machu-picchu-entrance-policies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adventureswithinreach.com\/travel\/2011\/02\/03\/new-machu-picchu-entrance-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"New Machu Picchu Entrance Policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 229px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/adventureswithinreach.com\/peru\/index.php?t=Machu%20Picchu\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" \" title=\"Machu Picchu Sanctuary\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventureswithinreach.com\/images\/peru\/photos\/machu-picchu\/machu-picchu1.jpg?resize=219%2C147\" alt=\"Machu Picchu Sanctuary\" width=\"219\" height=\"147\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Machu Picchu Sanctuary<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Effective immediately, the INC (Instituto Nacional de Cultura) has issued new policies for entrance to the historic <a title=\"Machu Picchu\" href=\"http:\/\/adventureswithinreach.com\/peru\/index.php?t=Machu%20Picchu\">Machu Picchu<\/a> Sanctuary ruins. \u00a0This is to ensure proper security, and to better monitor the number of visitors to the site.<\/p>\n<p>To purchase of Machu Picchu entrance tickets, personal information must be supplied: \u00a0full name, gender, nationality, passport number and birth date.<\/p>\n<p>The ticket is valid for one day&#8217;s visit to Machu Picchu: \u00a0on the day listed on the ticket, one day before, or one day after (only one day, however). \u00a0There is no limit for the number of entrances during this day.<\/p>\n<p>The visitor must carry a copy of his\/her passport, as this information will be validated at the entrance of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors, who wish to buy their tickets locally in Aguas Calientes, will need to show their original passport.<\/p>\n<p>Adventures Within Reach (AWR) will be requesting this information for all clients who are visiting Machu Picchu. \u00a0Note that this information is currently requested for Inca Trail permits. \u00a0The new policy expands to those visitors who take the train to Machu Picchu for a tour. \u00a0Please contact us if you have any questions!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Effective immediately, the INC (Instituto Nacional de Cultura) has issued new policies for entrance to the historic Machu Picchu Sanctuary ruins. \u00a0This is to ensure proper security, and to better monitor the number of visitors to the site.
