Getting a Visa
If you come to Ecuador as a tourist or on a business trip, you do not need a visa for a stay up to 90 days in a 12 month-period (chronological year), unless you are a citizen (passport holder) from one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, or Somalia.
As of September 2017, all tourists entering Ecuador must show proof of “travel health insurance” (doctor, accident, and death) valid during their stay in Ecuador. Without proof of such insurance, travelers may be required to purchase insurance upon entry to Ecuador.
Entry Requirements
- Your passport must be valid 6 months beyond intended stay.
- You must have tickets and documents for return or onward travel.
- We recommend at least 2 blank pages in your passport per country visited.
