Packing List for India– Golden Triangle and General Touring
Special Note: Remember to pack and wear somewhat conservative clothing. While rapidly evolving, India is a very traditional society in many parts of the country. Long shorts and long pants are most appropriate for men. Women should choose skirts that go below the knee or better yet, just wear casual slacks. Shorts are often considered “improper” for women, as are short skirts, tank tops and any variety of revealing, low-cut shirts. Bring a pair or two of short socks for wearing around temples, if you don’t want to go barefoot (you have to take your shoes off before entering Hindu temples and holy sites). Women should bring a light scarf to drape over head or shoulders when entering holy sites.
