Brazil Visa
The information above is for informational purposes only. All travelers should check to see if entry requirements and fees have changed.
Who needs a Visa?
Currently. U.S., Canadian, Australian, and Japanese citizens are not required to have visas to enter Brazil. EU passport holders do not need a visa to enter Brazil.
On October 1, 2023, Brazil will bring back mandatory visas for tourists from the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan. Visas must be purchased before departure and cannot be purchased upon arrival in Brazil.
Citizens of other countries should contact a Brazil Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence.
Entry Requirements
- Your passport must be valid 6 months beyond intended stay.
- You must have tickets and documents for return or onward travel.
- We recommend at least 2 blank pages in your passport per country visited.
Visiting Iguazu Falls
You can visit Iguazu Falls from both Argentina and Brazil.
There may be lines on either side of the border, depending on the time of the day and holidays.
Also check regarding immunization requirements. Australian residents, for example, require yellow fever shots if returning to Australia within 6 days following a visit to Brazil.
