1) Chobe Game Lodge (Chobe)
The only permanent game lodge situated within the famous Chobe National Park, Chobe Game Lodge is Botswana’s premier venue for guests looking for a perfect base from which to explore the Chobe National Park and the Chobe River. This five-star Lodge is fully ecotourism certified by Botswana Tourism Organization.
Chobe Game Lodge can accommodate up to 94 people in total luxury. Each of the 44 rooms at the lodge are river-facing and air-conditioned, featuring overhead fans, complimentary mini bar, en-suite bathrooms and a private terrace. For those guests who desire the ultimate in exclusivity, the Lodge has four river-view suites, each with their own plunge pool and separate lounge area.
2) Chobe Savanna Lodge (Chobe)
Situated in the Eastern Caprivi, Zambezi Province of Namibia, a narrow strip of country on the northern bank of the Chobe River, Chobe Savanna Lodge overlooks the vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park’s Puku Flats.
A private and secluded safari experience is guaranteed as Chobe Savanna Lodge accommodates only 26 guests in beautifully furnished thatched chalets, each with a private deck, an integrated bedroom and lounge area and en-suite facilities. Every chalet is air-conditioned and has its own complimentary mini bar.
3) Savute Safari Lodge (Savute)
Stretching from the Linyanti River all the way to Savute Marsh, the winding waterways of the Savute Channel have pumped life into the western section of Chobe National Park for thousands of generations. However, this fickle and unpredictable channel has a fascinating history of flooding and drying up, independently of good rainy seasons and flood levels elsewhere. The Savute region and the Savute Marsh in particular, is renowned for its intense predator encounters and exceptional game viewing making it one of Botswana’s most popular wildlife destinations.
To ensure a private and relaxing environment, Savute Safari Lodge accommodates just 24 guests in eleven thatched chalets built of local timber and one family room which consists of two double bedrooms. The chalets, which have been elegantly furnished in calm neutral tones to blend with the natural environment, feature expansive private decks, a combined bedroom and lounge area and en suite facilities.
4) Xugana Island Lodge (Okavango Delta)
Xugana Lagoon is widely recognised as the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, which itself is Africa’s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. Owing to its remote delta location, Xugana Island Lodge is a year round water paradise offering guests the chance to experience the beauty of the Okavango Delta with its myriad of deep waterways, open floodplains and diverse wildlife inhabitants.
The lodge accommodates only 16 guests in 8 large, raised, reed and thatch lagoon-facing chalets, with en-suite facilities and private viewing decks optimally placed on the shaded fringe of the island.
5) Camp Okavango (Okavango Delta)
Camp Okavango is a unique, exclusive and eco-sensitive African safari camp situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. A hidden treasure, in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assures its guests of an unparalleled year-round water wilderness experience.
Hidden among beautiful ancient mangosteen trees, the main area comprises a network of interconnected walkways and decks linking two lounge areas, a dining room, library and self service bar.
To ensure a peaceful and genuine safari experience, Camp Okavango accommodates just 24 guests. There are 11 intimate Safari suites and 1 family suite consisting of two bedrooms and each with an en-suite bathroom.
6) Camp Moremi (Moremi)
For the classic African safari experience, look no further than Camp Moremi in Botswana’s world-renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Camp Moremi is situated on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon in an area well known for its spectacular game-viewing opportunities. New camp in May 2018.
Guests will enjoy the luxurious seclusion of classic-styled safari tents, each one set on a raised teak deck, featuring an en-suite bathroom. Accommodating a maximum of 24 guests, Camp Moremi ensures exclusivity and privacy in a tranquil environment.
7) Camp Xakanaxa (Moremi)
The prime location of Camp Xakanaxa (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon, in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve, makes it one of the very few safari camps that offers guests an authentic, year-round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience.
The camp accommodates 24 guests in 12 spacious all-canvas, classic Meru-style luxury safari tents, with en suite showers, hand basins and toilet facilities. Situated around the fringe of the lagoon, Camp Xakanaxa is one of the few camps in Botswana which still offers the essence of a classic tented camp.
8) Leroo La Tau (Makgadikgadi Pans National Park)
Makgadikgadi Pans National Park is famous for the large zebra migration.
Leroo La Tau is situated on the western bank of the Boteti River, northwest of Khumaga Village and about 140 kilometers southeast of Maun. The eastern bank of the Boteti forms the boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, which stretches away from the riverbank towards its interior of scrubland and mineral-rich grasslands.
The lodge features 12 luxurious thatched and glass-fronted chalets with en-suite bathrooms, each unit raised on a wooden platform. With their prime location facing east and on the edge of the Boteti River, each guest room offers exceptional views across the Boteti River below and into the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
