Southern Africa Visa

Please note that anyone traveling to South Africa must have two or more consecutive blank pages open in their passports. Passports must also be valid for at least six months after departure.

South Africa

No visa is required for U.S., EU, Canadian, New Zealand, and Australian citizens for a stay of less than 90 days. You will be issued with a 3 month multiple entry stamp upon entry into South Africa.

Travelers entering South Africa from countries where yellow fever is endemic are often required to present their yellow World Health Organization (WHO) vaccination record or other proof of inoculation. This requirement may be imposed on travelers flying to South Africa via yellow fever countries, even when transiting passengers are required to stay on board the plane (e.g., South African Airways flights stopping in Dakar, Senegal, and Kenya).

Botswana

No visa is required for US citizens for a stay of less than 90 days (must have 2 empty passport pages). You will be issued with a 3 month multiple entry stamp upon entry into Botswana.

Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, a Visa is required, and this can be obtained at the port of entry. Visas are US$30/person single entry or $45/person multiple entry.

Zambia

In Zimbabwe, a Visa is required, and this can be obtained at the port of entry. Visas are US$25/person single entry or $40/person multiple entry.

Namibia

Namibia visas are to be paid directly at immigration in US Dollars cash. You need at least 2 empty passport pages.

  • Single Entry – USD 50.00 per person
  • Double Entry – USD 80.00 per person
  • Multiple Entry – USD 160.00 per person

Children Traveling to South Africa/Botswana

As of 01 June 2015 South Africa’s new immigration regulations for passengers traveling with minors will come into effect. Under the new law, all minors (children under the age of 18 years) will be required to produce, in addition to their passport, an Unabridged Birth Certificate (showing the particulars of both parents) when exiting and entering South African ports of entry. There are additional rules if children are traveling with just 1 parent or no parents.
