Day 1: Arrive Siem Reap, Cambodia, Transfer to hotel

Transfer Siem Reap Airport - Hotel (Driver + Guide)

Welcome to Cambodia! Upon arrival in Seim Reap, if you have not done, so already please obtain your Cambodia visa. After clearing immigration and customs, proceed into the arrival area where you will be met by your private guide and driver to transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Bike Angkor Wat (BL)

Temple Biking & Quiet Trails:

Explore Angkor Temples by bicycle. Cycle quiet back trails, explore breathtaking temples in the stunning and friendly Cambodian countryside. This trip runs outside Siem Reap. Escape the crowds, the busy roads and the well-worn trail at Angkor. Cycle the small tracks and minor roads to see a different side of the Angkor Temples.

This is a guided tour of the most intriguing of the major temples. We visit Angkor Wat, Tha Prom, The Elephant Terrace and the Bayon as well as a couple of less visited ones along the way. We finish with a ride on small trails through the villages and back to town. This is a truly enjoyable ride on a good bike with a friendly Cambodian cycling guide. If you can ride a bike, then you will love this ride. The distance is approximately 30km on mainly flat tracks and small roads. We will stop often for photos, temple exploration on foot and refreshments.

NOTE: Visiting temples or other religious sites, visitors are advised to follow a dress code consisting of "long trousers or skirt which cover the knees, and covered shoulders". Skirts, small shorts, tank tops, and other items of revealing clothing are not allowed.

Day 3: Siem Reap -- Roluos Group Temples (B)

Rolous Group & Kampong Kleang Village:

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your private guide and driver to visit the Roluos Group of temples, the remains of the first major capital of the Angkorian-era Empire. Including Lolei, Preah Ko and Bakong. Lolei Temple built on an islet by Yasovarman I the founder of the first city of Angkor. The sandstone carvings in the niches of the temples are notable as are the Sanskrit inscriptions on the doorposts. Preah Ko was erected by Indravarman I in the late 9th century in dedication to his defied ancestors in 880. There are inscriptions in Sanskrit on the doorsteps of each temple. The Bakong temple was built and dedicated to Shiva by Indravarman I. This is the largest and most interesting of the Roluos Group of temples and still has an active Buddhist monastery. After visiting the temples, you will receive a monks blessing for good luck and good health.

Lunch at local Restaurant

This afternoon, you will drive to Kampong Kleang village. Imagine wooden houses on 10 meter tall stilts, surrounded by water in the wet season and on the flood plains of the lake in the dry season. In the late afternoon, we will catch a wooden boat from Kampong Khleang to the Tonle Sap Lake. Both sides of the river are lined by floating houses that look amazing nestled on the great lake. From here you have a picturesque view of the floating house and local people's way of life and take as many photos as you want. We include a few soft drinks and local beers on the boat so you can enjoy some sundowners before heading back to Siem Reap.

Day 4: Fly to Bangkok, transfer to hotel (B)

Enjoy your last morning in Siem Reap before checking out of your hotel. Your private guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.

Day 5: Best of Bangkok tour, Walking, Tuk Tuk, and Boat (B)

Tuk Tuk + Walking Tour:

This 4-hour TukTuk + walking experience takes us to the hidden alleys of Bangkok's Chinatown. Enjoy the thrills of Bangkok's unique and iconic three-wheeler and get a great impression of the communities living in Bangkok's old town.

Our experience starts by foot while we explore the old Thai-Chinese communities of Bangkok that have been living and working here for decades. In between family-owned restaurants and street food stalls we may appreciate the famous street art along the walking lanes of historic Chinatown and passages so small even bicycles can barely pass.

Following these impressions we hop on Bangkok's famous TukTuk navigating our way through Chinatown's Dragon road. Get a behind-the-scenes view of life in this bustling community whilst whizzing around Bangkok's most colorful and vibrant areas. In between we'll take time to stop and indulge ourselves in the older, less famous, shrines, temples and markets of our beloved capital. Sampling the world's most famous and recognized snacks at the numerous charming street food stalls will complete this unique and iconic Bangkok experience.

Canals, Culture & Cocktails:

Following lunch (on own). Dive into a journey to uncover traditional Thai culture cruising by longtail boat before soaking up an atmospheric sunset across the Chao Phraya River with shimmering temples beyond. Set off on an adventurous longtail, crisscross the khlongs (canals), pass small community temples and glimpse the unfolding action along the edge of the waterway. Step out and explore Baan Silapin (Artist House) located in a centuries-old traditional teak family home. Meet some of the creative people involved with this project and admire the photography and artwork.

Continue on to Wat Arun, (Temple of Dawn), one of the best-known temples in Thailand and bid farewell to your longtail. Stroll the pavilions, ascend one of the prangs (towers) and learn about the influence of Buddhism on everyday life. Board a local ferry for a short crossing to the other side, venture into a special riverside restaurant, enjoy a local cocktail and witness the sunset across this River of Kings.

Day 6: Travel Bangkok to Kanchanaburi (Bridge over River Kwai) (BLD)

Rise early this morning to drive to the old fishing port of Samut Songkram, known locally as Maeklong, well known for its lively railway market. Your guide will walk with you through the market along the tracks until the train arrives!

Then continue driving to Kanchanaburi town visit the Chung Khai War Cemetery. This gives an impression of the circumstances in which the Burma Railway was built by POW's in WWII. Then visit the Bridge over the River Kwai from here you board the train to Nam Tok over the infamous Burma Railway, constructed in WWII under Japanese orders by POW's and forced laborers.

Have lunch at the local restaurant and transfer to Phu ta Kien Pier to take the longtail boat to your hotel.

Day 7: Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Train to Chiang Mai (BL)

Check out and travel to the Kingdom's second capital, Ayutthaya and discover impressive Buddhist statues, ancient monuments and Khmer style temples.

Accompanied by your expert guide journey to Ayutthaya. Stop en route at Bang Pa-In Palace, home of the King's former summer residence. Built in the 17th century, the architectural style blends influence from the East and the West.

Continue to Ayutthaya Historical Park, With so many temples and monuments at this UNESCO World Heritage-listed site. Uncover the most striking ruins including Wat Phra Mahathat, famously known for the Buddha head-entwined within the roots of a banyan tree.

Discover Wat Phra Si Sanphet, part of the Royal Palace originally built in the 14th century, with its striking bell shaped pagodas. Marvel at the giant reclining Buddha statue at Wat Lokayasutharam. You will be free until evening.

Train Ayutthaya - Chiang Mai: Transfer to Ayutthaya Railway Station. Upon arrival at Ayutthaya Railway Station. Overnight on the sleeper train from Ayuthaya to Chiang Mai.

Day 8: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Buddhist Temple (B)

Upon arrival at Chiang Mai Railway Station meet your guide and driver who will take you to your hotel to keep the luggage and depart to Doi Suthep.

A Taste of Doi Suthep:

Venture to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, witness pilgrims present offerings at the holy shrines, admire the golden pagodas and soak in the atmosphere at this most sacred Buddhist temple.

Head straight to Doi Suthep mountain and time permitting, join locals as they climb the 308 steps up the mythical Naga serpent staircase to the temple where you will be rewarded with views of the city below. Listen to the chants of the monks, drink in the atmosphere and immerse yourself in the spirituality of this revered temple complex. Mingle with the pilgrims from across Thailand and discover pagodas and statues devoted to Buddhism with Hindu influences. Learn about Buddhism and its impact on the culture and daily life of Thai people.

NOTE: Visitors must dress appropriately, no shorts, shoulders must be covered, and shoes need to be removed.

Return to hotel in the late afternoon.
