3-Day Bellavista Cloud Forest Excursion
This is a lovely nature excursion an easy drive from Quito. In this enchanting green kingdom, a profusion of life awaits your discovery, including botanical treasures such as bromeliads and orchids, as well as the fascinating plant families of Gesneriaceae and Melastomataceae. Since Bellavista is located on the equator, flowers are in bloom year round.
Birders and nature lovers alike thrill to the sight of brightly coloured tanagers and the Plate-billed Mountain-Toucan, and everybody loves to spend time just admiring the multitude of hummingbirds hovering around our feeders in front of the Trogon´s Lounge!
Bellavista's resident mammals include the endangered Spectacled Bear, (recently photographed by one of our "Camera Traps"), as well as the Mountain Lion, the Andean Coati, Kinkajoo, the Tayra (Giant Weasel) , and of course the newly discovered Olinguito!
Full Itinerary
Day 1: 3-DAY BELLAVISTA CLOUD FOREST EXCURSION / Pick up from Quito, full day in the Cloud Forest (BLD)
6:30 AM Pick up from your hotel in Quito City and drive 1.5 hours to Bellavista for breakfast. Guided hike and then lunch. Afternoon forest hike to discover the ecology of this mysterious forest and/or bird watching followed by dinner.
*** Meet your guide from Bellavista in the lobby of your hotel at 6:30am.

Mid-Range Accommodations: Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve & Lodge
Day 2: Full day in the Cloud Forest (BLD)
Early morning bird hike (pre-dawn departure), followed by breakfast at the lodge. Hike to a waterfall hidden in the forest, or walk the self-guided trail. In the afternoon, enjoy an easy or adventurous hike, alone or with a guide.

Day 3: Full day in the Cloud Forest, drive to Quito (BL)
After a refreshing night's sleep, an early morning bird hike in the serene morning light is well worthwhile. At 8am, the special Bellavista breakfast is served. Afterwards, explore on your own, or go with a guide to a waterfall.
Lunch is served at 1pm, and afterwards you choose whether you want to take a short hike or just relax while enjoying the flight and activity of the hummingbirds.
Approximately 5pm return to Quito.
