8-Day Belize Jungle & Beach
A full week in Belize with 4 nights in San Ignacio for jungle and Maya ruins activities and then 3 nights on Ambergris Caye for snorkeling and beach activities.
Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Belize Airport, transfer to hotel in San Ignacio
Arrive Belize Airport, transfer to hotel in San Ignacio.
The drive is about 1 hour 45 minutes to San Ignacio.
If you have spare time in San Ignacio, be sure to check out the San Ignacio outdoor market. Saturday is the biggest day, but it is worth visiting other days as well (7am-5pm).
The Green Iguana Conservation Project at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel is also a great experience. Tours are every hour on the hour (9am-4pm) and cost about $11/person.

Day 2: Full day hiking ATM Cave (BL)
Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave:
Travel the vast network of underground chambers, a treasure trove for archaeologists and visitors. In the jungle, take a swim into caves about 15 ft long and 15 ft in depth and walk through water which is about ankle height to chest deep. Then crawl and hike up into different chambers. You will see Mayan skeletal remains, potteries, stone tools, and beautiful formations before savoring a traditional Belizean lunch.
Shared tour, includes: transportation, guide, equipment (helmet, headlamp, life jacket), water, lunch, entrance fees and all taxes.
Wear: Water-friendly shorts and top (no cotton, you will be wet for the whole tour), long sleeve rash guard shirt, old tennis shoes, and old socks that will be hiked in. On the hike itself, you will only take a water bottle (no hat, sunscreen, phone/camera, etc.).
Bring in the van: Extra set of clothes, light jacket, shoes/sandals, towel for after the tour. Also sunglasses, sunscreen, and bug spray.

- Seahorses at Iguana Reef Hotel
- Free time on Caye Caulker for lunch
- Boat back

Day 7: Free Day on Ambergris Caye with golf cart
Free Day on Ambergris Caye with golf cart.
Both the Truck Stop and Secret Beach are good for casual lunch, dinner, and sunset. Watch for speed bumps! Town center is crazy and chaotic.
- Truck Stop - North of town, food trucks (Asian, cantina, pizza, bar), lawn games, pool with pool bar, music many nights, outdoor movie 1-2/week, dock facing west good for sunset.
- Secret Beach - Many beach restaurants right next to each other. All have food, drinks, tables, lounge chairs, massages. Some have tables in the water, swings in the water, etc. I recommend aiming for the Secret Beach Water Park (when you get to the end of the road, turn right, go to the last group of buildings, and park on the left.

Day 8: Transfer to airport for flight to Belize City, depart
Your hotel will transfer you to the airport in San Pedro to fly to Belize City for departure.
When you check in for your flight, they will give you a small piece of paper. This has to be filled out before you go through immigration. There are some snack bars in the airport if you need food before flying out.
