Explore the bustling streets and squares of the largest historical center in the Americas. Visit some of its most important churches such as the majestic La Compania (Gold Church) and iconic San Francisco, guardians of a stunning multi-ethnic artistic and cultural heritage. Drive through the traditional neighborhood of San Juan. Finish the morning at the "Panecillo" hillside with its breathtaking views of the old and modern city.
Just north of Quito is the "Middle of the World City" monument with the equatorial line at latitude 0° 0' 0". There are science experiments and a traditional indigenous village.

Full Itinerary
Day 1: Driving and walking tour of Quito plus visit the Equator
Your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and give you a brief introduction to the history and life of Quito.
Your first stop will be the Plaza Grande with the cathedral and presidential palace. Next you will drive to Old Town for a walking tour of the historic area including the "Gold Church" and the San Francisco Church.
You will leave the city and stop at a fantastic viewpoint known as "La Virgen del Panecillo", home to a 147-feet statue of the Virgin Mary adorned with wings. Here, you can admire the breathtaking view of the domes and towers gracing the heart of Quito.
Next you will drive to the Middle of the World monument, which is a 100-foot tall monument with an interesting Ethnographic Museum.
Finally, visit the Intinan Museum, which offers an interactive experience exactly on the equator.
Return to your hotel by early afternoon.
