4-Day Rio de Janeiro Essentials Adventure
Over its nearly 500 years of history, it has been the spring board for all the country's principal cultural exports, and the port of entry for major international art exhibitions or musical events bringing top names from the classical to the contemporary. Rio's architecture embraces churches and buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries, blending with the world renowned designs of the 20th. In the South Zone, along the sea front, the city preserves the memory of names such as Tom Jobim and Joao Gilberto, who wrote the first chords of the Bossa Nova.
Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro
Arrive at Rio and transfer to the hotel. Free afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.

Mid-Range Accommodations: Hotel South American Copacabana
Day 2: Corcovado / Santa Teresa / Morrinho Project (B)
Breakfast and transfer to the Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado Mountain. Afterwards depart to visit Santa Teresa neighborhood. Lunch (not included) and then we visit Morrinho Project on our way back. Return to the hotel late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Christ the Redeemer: Located at Corcovado Mountain (710 meters), with a height of 38m. The most important symbol of Rio de Janeiro, this monument is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. From there you can have a panoramic view of the city.
Santa Teresa: Located in an old neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, Santa Teresa is a very charming place in Rio where lots of local artists living and exhibiting there.
Morrinho Project: The Morrinho Project is a social and cultural project based outside the Pereira da Silva favela (slum) in the Southern Zone of Rio de Janeiro. A Model of 450sqm made of bricks and other recycled materials. With the aim of showing that favela life is multi-dimensional, and endeavors to communicate their own reality through film, plastic arts, theater, and music.
This tour is available from Tuesdays to Thursdays, and on Sundays (10:00 to 18:30). Morrinho Website: www.morrinhorg.com
Note: To get to the project, part of the path is made walking on uneven ground, besides having to go up and down several steps. Wear comfortable shoes.

Day 3: Sugar Loaf (B)
After breakfast, free morning. PM departure to visit the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Sugar Loaf (396m): Trademark of Rio de Janeiro, the Sugar Loaf Mountain has a privileged location in the city. In the first part of the cable-car ride you can see the entire Guanabara Bay, Corcovado and Rio-Niteroi Bridge. In the second part of the cable-car ride you can see, in a unique perspective, the beach of Copacabana, Santa Cruz Fortress and some beaches of Niteroi in fantastic scenery!
Optional: Hiking towards Urca Hill (220m). We walk by Claudio Coutinho way and take the trail to reach the Urca Hill. The first step is steep and the trail takes about 40 min. It can be decided locally and will reduce the time up there but will avoid queuing for the cable car. No extra cost. *Moderate level.

Day 4: Departure (B)
After breakfast, free morning to relax and enjoy Rio de Janeiro by yourself. Check out at 12pm and transfer to the airport for flight to your next destination.
