5-Day Fly in Bwindi Gorillas
The most convenient way to trek the gorillas on a quick trip in Uganda is actually to fly into Kigali, Rwanda. However, there is another option by way of Entebbe/Kampala. You can fly to Kisoro or Kihihi (domestic flights via Entebbe) and trek the gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi (situated within Uganda) has a number of sites now to trek the endangered gorillas including Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo, all located within several hours drive from each other.
When taking a domestic flight to Kihihi, it is best to trek at Buhoma while when flying to Kisoro, it is better to trek in the Nkuringo/Rushaga sectors. There are currently 2 flights a day.
Depending on your international flights, this trip could be a day shorter. Or, you can extend your stay at Bwindi and have additional activities including an additional trek.
Starting June 1, 2019, Air Kenya will offer service between Mara and Kisumu airports in the Maasi Mara and Uganda's Entebbe International Airport, connecting with Aerolink's early afternoon flights to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, and Kidepo Valley National Park.
