1-Day Machu Picchu via The Hiram Bingham Train
Starting in Cusco from Poroy Station, you ride the luxury Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the famous citadel, have tea at Sanctuary Lodge and return on the evening Hiram Bingham train to Cusco.
Hiram Bingham runs round-trip journeys every day, except on Sundays.

Day 1: Day trip to Machu Picchu on the luxury Hiram Bingham Train

Transfer from your Cusco hotel to the Poroy train station (not included) in order to take the luxury Hiram Bingham Train to the town of Aguas Calientes, near Machu Picchu. During the ride, you will have a gourmet brunch as a guide explains the history and culture of the area, as well as pointing out various communities and ruins en-route. With your guide, you will take the shuttle to Machu Picchu for a tour of the famous citadel. Afternoon tea will be served at Sanctuary Lodge. There may be time for an afternoon hike or return to Aguas Calientes to visit the local craft market and village and hot springs baths. Take the late afternoon Hiram Bingham train back to Cusco, enjoying a sumptuous dinner on board and returning to Poroy station. (Accommodations not included in this day trip, but there is an option to stay overnight in Aguas Calientes and return the next day). Itinerary subject to change:
- 9:05am Departure from Poroy train station (20 minutes drive from Cusco); includes brunch on train
- 12:25pm Arrival at Machu Picchu station. Transfer by bus to the Sanctuary
- 1:00pm Tour of the ruins
- 4:00pm Afternoon Tea at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge
- 4:45pm Transfer to Machu Picchu train station
- 5:50pm Train departs for Cusco; dinner on train
- 9:16pm Arrival at Poroy train station
