2-Day Machu Picchu via Vistadome Train
This is the ideal and least rushed way to see Machu Picchu! You will enjoy an early morning train ride to Aguas Calientes. Arrive and check in to your hotel. Have lunch on your own and wander around the village and its outdoor market, hot springs baths and local museum. Stay overnight in Aguas Calientes.
On the second day, be ready to meet your guide early in the morning, for the shuttle, entrance and guided tour of Machu Picchu (before the crowds arrive!). There is an option to climb Huayna Picchu at 7 or 10 a.m. (must order tickets at least 90 days in advance). After your tour, you have a short time to explore the ruins further, or hike to Inti Punku. Return to Aguas Calientes and catch the late afternoon train back to Cusco/Poroy. New regulations: The maximum time at Machu Picchu is 4 hours, not including the Huayna Picchu climb. If you want to spend the afternoon exploring the ruins, you will need to have a second entrance ticket.
Price of US$485 per person, double occupancy, is the budget option, with Expedition Train, accommodation and group tour. Full service options (transfers, Vistadome Train, accommodation and private tour with lunch) are available from US$645 per person, double occupancy (groupof 6+). Full Itinerary
Day 1: 2-DAY MACHU PICCHU / Trip to Machu Picchu by train; free afternoon; overnight Aguas Calientes (BL)
This is the best excursion to Machu Picchu! It provides an opportunity to see the incomparable Machu Picchu early in the morning on the second day, before crowds arrive. There would be an opportunity to visit both days. We have two options to suit any budget!
Option 1 - Budget - Just get me there!
Taxi on your own to the Cusco/Poroy train station (or Ollantaytambo train station); take the Expedition train to Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes); afternoon to wander around the village; overnight in Aguas Calientes.
Option 2 - Full service - All the frills and thrills!
Pick up at your Cusco hotel for a transfer to the Cusco/Poroy train station. Take the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes); arrive and check in. You hav the afternoon to wander around the village. Dinner on your own and overnight in Aguas Calientes.
NOTE: You may select services from either option, for a custom itinerary, e.g., include the transfer, but lunch on your own...or...take the Expedition train, but have a private tour.

The tickets to climb Huayna Picchu must be purchased at the same time as the entrance ticket (at least 60 days in advance of your arrival). There are 200 for 7 a.m. and 200 for 10 a.m. and they sell out quickly!
