Day 1: Arrival in Santiago

Day 2: Day tour of Santiago (B)
Today we depart for a comprehensive city tour of Santiago. We begin this tour at the San Francisco Church, built between 1572 and 1618. We then continue to the Palacio de la Moneda, the current seat of Chilean government. After this we will visit the Plaza de Armas, where we will see important national monuments, such as the Iglesia Catedral (The Cathedral Church), Correo Central (The Main Post Office), and the Municipalidad de Santiago (The City Hall). We continue our trip with the Cerro Santa Lucia (the Santa Lucia Hill), the location where the city was founded in 1541. Finally we cross the Mapocho river and pass through different residential districts allowing us to gain a sense of the variety of neighborhoods. We return to our hotel in Santiago and overnight.
