Description: | Kilimanjaro Halisi is located at Machare Farm, a 350 acre organic coffee farm located on the higher cultivated slopes of Kilimanjaro. It is located at 4500 feet, it is probably the nicest hotel in the Moshi area, and you can do some nice walks from the lodge. Located just 20 minutes from Mweka gate of Kilimanjaro and 25 minutes from Moshi town center, Kilimanjaro Halisi is ideally suited for travelers climbing Kilimanjaro or simply looking for a peaceful overnight before continuing on their journey in Tanzania. | ||||||||||||||||||
Rooms: | It has 7 guest rooms spread over 3 buildings privately located within the lush green organic coffee fields of Machare Farm. Updated large rooms, each with comfortable beds and nice linens, small table, 2 chairs, nook for luggage, modern-styled Western bathroom, rooms come with power through solar panels backed up by a generator. | ||||||||||||||||||
Meals/Dining: | Halisi's chef prepares everything from scratch, pasta, bread, jams, and dairy, fresh from Machare farm. Dinner is US$25 and Lunch is US$15. | ||||||||||||||||||

Pros: | Awesome views of Kilimanjaro amid natural, serene surroundings. Great service and great food. An updated farmhouse-style country lodge. | ||||||||||||||||||
Cons: | An extra 20-25 minute drive from Moshi. | ||||||||||||||||||
Advice: | Excellent place to gently acclimatize prior to a Kilimanjaro trek and enjoy the serenity of the Tanzanian countryside. |
