Day 1: 1-DAY BUS TO PUNO / Bus trip from Puno to Cusco with stops and tours en route (L)

Early morning transfer (optional) from your hotel to the Puno bus station in time for your 07:30 a.m. departure. Your guide will be with you on the bus the entire trip, giving cultural information, history, geology and other tidbits about Peru! Your first stop is in Pukara for a brief guided tour of the museum which specializes in pre-Inca artifacts. Next, you will stop for views at the highest mountain pass between Puno and Cusco, La Raya. Lunch is at a restaurant where you will taste various Andean dishes at an extensive buffet. The afternoon offers a guided visit of the Inca ruins at Raqchi. Finally, you will stop at Andahuaylillas, for a guided tour of San Pedro Church, a beautiful Spanish colonial church of gold. Around 17:00 p.m., you will arrive the Cusco bus station. Optional transfer to your hotel.
