3-Day Iquitos Amazon Lodge Excursion
For travelers who prefer the northern Amazon basin out of Iquitos, we have partnered with the Muyuna Lodge, for an authentic deep jungle experience. Muyuna is located on the Yanayacu river banks at 140 kms. (84 miles) southeast from Iquitos city, very close to the Pacaya- Samiria National Reserve and inside the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Reserve.
The 3-day excursion is a wonderful introduction to this diverse ecosytem. If you want to observe the pink dolphins, see the huge Victoria Regis aquatic plant, and fish for piranha, this is the place to go!
You may want to arrive the night before (we can arrange accommodations in Iquitos) or early in the morning, as the boat leaves for the lodge around 9 a.m. There is also an early morning flight from Lima to Iquitos, in time for this exursion. You will return late afternoon on the third day, making this a full 3-day excursion. There is an evening flight back to Lima, or you can stay overnight in Iquitos.
For more jungle excursions at this lodge, ask us about the 4- and 5-day itineraries! A 6-day itinerary includes a night of camping in the jungle.
