Thanks, Lisa B., for this great report from the Elephant Watch Camp on safari in Kenya!
“We highly recommend Elephant Watch Camp. We heard from other guests that the Masai Mara is often very crowded with multiple jeeps around the same animals. We didn’t have that experience. Elephant Watch is a small camp — just 6 tents and a couple will accommodate 3 people. Elephant Watch really works to avoid the rest of the jeeps – and that makes the experience all the better.
The leopard was amazing. And when we were watching her, we were the only jeep there for most of the time, then one other jeep joined us as we were getting ready to leave. The only downside – no rhinos. They have all been killed off in this area – terrible.
On our last night we hiked with a group of Samburu warriors (many of them staff from Elephant Watch) to a hill top and the warriors danced and sang for us and another guest. We even tried dancing.”
