4-Day San Pedro de Atacama, Geysers, and Salt Flats

*** Meet your driver in the Arrivals Hall after you collect your luggage. Look for someone with a sign with your name on it.

Drive to San Pedro de Atacama (about 1.5 hours). Along the way we will see the Cordillera de la Sal (Salt mountain range) and a powerful view of the massive salt flat with the Licancabur volcano in the background.
3:00-6:30pm Rainbow Valley, Yerbas Buenas petroglyphs, Sunset in Salt mountain range.

We will visit two sites of cultural and geological importance. To the northwest of San Pedro de Atacama Yerbas Buenas is a sector of artistic manifestations that include petroglyphs, pictographs, dry engravings and paintings or petroglyphs, being the main concentration of rock art on this entire side of the province. Then, the Rainbow Valley will be our geological laboratory where we can appreciate millions of years old rocks that reach the surface in strata of diverse colors. Finally, we will meet at sunset over the Cordillera de la Sal, where we can contemplate the capricious morphology of this range as well as the gorgeousness of the Andes in the distance.

7:45am-12:00pm Moon Valley:

With a delicious breakfast we enjoy the quietness and great beauty of the view of the Salt Mountain Range and Los Andes Mountain range. We visit the impressive landscapes of the Moon Valley. We explore an Ayllu of San Pedro and taste typical atacameñan food. We get to know the history, culture and challenges of San Pedro de Atacama.

8:30am-4:00pm Full Day Altiplanic Lagoons and Atacama Salt Flat

We will pick you up at your hotel in the morning to begin the journey outside the city. The trip to Piedras Rojas and Altiplanicas Lagoons will take us through important tourist spots within the Atacama Desert.

To reach Piedras Rojas, or Salar de Aguas Calientes as it is also known, we will have to drive up to 3,800 meters in altitude and walk for 1 hour and 15 minutes to see these reddish rocks, as well as the lagoons and salt flats in the vicinity.

Subsequently, we will move to the Altiplanicas Lagoons Miscanti and Miniques area, where our guide will provide explanations about the flora and fauna that inhabit the area. Likewise, we will make a stop at Chaxa Lagoon, where you can see flamingos. Similarly, we will pass through Socaire and the Tropic of Capricorn, where we will make a short stop for photographs. Then, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama to conclude our tour.

6:00am-1:30pm Geysers del Tatio and Putana Wetland:

With the sunrise we head towards one of the entries to the Andean highlands, passing through important altitude ecosystems of extremely rich biodiversity such as the wetlands of Machuca and Putana. We make a stop at Machuca, a little farmer's village, to then continue towards an overwhelming spectacle of nature: the geyser field "El Tatio". Before returning to San Pedro, we explore yet another mighty gift of the earth, known as the "Geyser Blanco" (White Geyser), where the ones who have the heart can get into the thermal waters in the middle of the river trough.

In the afternoon, transfer from San Pedro de Atacama to Calama Airport
