As one of the world's most isolated inhabited islands, Easter Island is truly a treasure in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, located 3,500 km (2,180 mi) west of Chile with a land area of 164 sq km (63 sq mi).
On this tour you will learn about the peoples and rulers of this remote island and visit important cultural sites. You will see Rapa Nui's famous Moai, the enormous monolithic sculptures representing human beings. You will also be enchanted by the island's volcanoes and beaches.

Full Itinerary
Day 1: 5-DAY EASTER ISLAND / Arrive Easter Island
Arrive at Mataveri Airport with a reception including an authentic flower and/or shell necklace. Transfer to your hotel in Hanga Roa. Overnight hotel.

Day 2: Visit the biggest of the 15 Moais on the island (B)
Following breakfast at the hotel you embark on a full-day tour along the Moai route visiting Vaihu, a place surrounded by enormous statues which have fallen face down, and the ruins of Akahanga, where the first king of the island was buried. Further along we will see the Rano Raraku volcano, situated close to the southern shore of the island and at the base of Poike, the most spectacular crater on the island. Poike is also the quarry for the island's famous statues. Here we can witness the different stages in the construction of the Moais, the biggest of which still remains at the base of the quarry at more than 20m long and weighing just under 200 tons. We continue towards the beautiful beach of Anakena to see Ahu Tongariki, the biggest of the 15 Moais on the island. You will have free time to enjoy the warm sea waters surrounding the island and the rest of the day to use as you would like. Return to Hanga Roa and overnight hotel.

Day 3: Visits to Ana Kai Tangata and Ahu Vinapu (B)
We begin the day with a half-day tour to the Rano Kao Volcano, whose deep crater of lush vegetation contains a large fresh water lake covered with totora. Afterwards, expedition to the Cerimonial Centre of Orongo, situated at the top of the crater at over 300 m above sea level and where every year the Bird Man or Tangata Manu ceremony takes place. There are more than 100 petroglyphs that represent the Make-Make god and the Manutara seabird among others. Visit to Ana Kai Tangata, a cavern where the island people took refuge during times of war and where many pre-historic paintings can be seen. Finally, visit to Ahu Vinapu, where the interesting architectural style reminds us of the Inca's legacy, due to the perfection of the cuts and location of the stones. Return to the hotel. Overnight hotel.

Day 4: Visits to Ahu Akivi, the Ana Tepahu caverns, and the quarry of Puna Pau (B)
After breakfast we begin a half-day excursion visiting Ahu Akivi, the big platform composed of 7 Moais all facing the sea, the Ana Tepahu caverns, the quarry of Puna Pau where the top part of the Moais were sculpted, and Ahu Tahai. The rest of the day is free to explore or relax. Overnight hotel.

Day 5: Departure (B)
After breakfast you are transferred to Mataveri Airport for your departure flight. Farewell with shell necklaces.
