Nepal Testimonials
I’d recommend Adventures Within Reach to others after my experience in Nepal.
I have 2 favorite memories I’d like to share: our guides, Nutan and Dilip and the helicopter ride from Gorak Shepp to Lukla.
Nutan was constantly reading our mood and physical state. He made the right adjustments and give us the right information at the right time. He takes personal interest in us, even checking on us when we were not feeling well. He and Dilip set the right pace (for the group) to make sure we get to our target destinations on time. He even checked on me and came to see me at the hotel when I returned to Kathmandu from Bhutan. I think we were able to complete the trek to EBC because of these two excellent guides.
The helicopter ride was an experience of a lifetime, in spite of having to pay an extra $700. First, it lifted our morale once we decided that we didn’t have to take another 4 days to hike out. Hiking to EBC in 8 days would have been a serious challenge for us physically. We may not have been able to finish it. Nutan noticed on the 2nd or 3rd day of the hike. He was upfront with us and we were able to change course early in the hike. Lastly, there is nothing like flying through the Himalayas in a helicopter. The scenery was unbelievable. Naturally, it was much better than riding out in a Medical Evacuation helicopter!

17-Day Everest Base Camp Trek (Tea Houses)+ Bhutan, November 2018
The trip was incredible! We absolutely loved our guide kazi Sherpa and would highly recommend you try and book your clients with him. He was what made our trip.
We would recommend AWR to our friends. The itinerary was lovely, the accommodations were better than expected. There isn’t anything we can think of to make the trip better.

17-Day Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, April-May 2017
Thank you for helping make our visit of India, Nepal, and Bhutan very memorable. Everything was well organized from start to finish. (…) We had a great time visiting many wonderful places in India. We grew quite fond of our driver Manohar over the nine days we spent there. Our guides in each of the cities were very good and knowledgeable, and we did see a Bengal tiger on our first safari.
We were very happy with our Everest Base Camp Trek guide Nawong, and Tul our porter. In Kathmandu we enjoyed our guide Dickshya’s enthusiasm and commentary, and Surya the driver with his calm and kind disposition. The sights were incredible (…).
Our Bhutan tour was excellent with lots of interesting sights to see and again a good driver (Sam), and a great guide called Dorgi. Throughout the trip our hotels were very good without being stuffy or pretentious. We were happy with the choices. All were clean and most had a local flavour. All the included breakfasts were quite good as well. If we were to do it again, we would plan to spend an extra night or two in the Neemrana Fort hotel. We were sorry to have to leave so soon.
Thanks again for helping make it all possible.

India, Nepal Everest Base Camp, & Bhutan May 2013
The trip was really fantastic. The team was extremely knowledgeable and gave expert guidance, and I thought Nepal and the Khumbu region were amazing.
I think the Guest / Tea houses were by and large excellent and we were pleasantly surprised by them. There were some really excellent places also like the Nirvana Garden hotel near the gate of the National Park (on the way down). The rooms in Gorak Shep were probably the murkiest (like Gorak Shep itself), but given it’s location, that was totally understandable.
The Kathmandu Guest House was excellent. Some of the rooms there were hit and miss (small and dark) and others were huge, but the location and gardens were really fantastic. Far enough off the main drag in Thamel for some peace and quiet (when the local bands were not playing), yet close enough to the centre of action (and our favourite curry house !!).

I would like to second Brian, and to thank you, our guide, and every one else that helped with the success of our trip to Nepal.
I must say, that every thing went smoothly from the arrival to KTM until our guide brought us back to the airport. Everything went without a single fluke! It is important to say that Rakesh and the team act in professionalism and with customer-satisfaction in their mind and spirit.
The trek was great and the views are breathtaking – there are no words to describe the view of the mountains with their enormous power.

The trip was great! Tibet and Bhutan were fascinating. The Bhutan people are so very wonderful I wanted to bring them back with me, great country. Tibet is so wonderful. Some areas are better than others, but the temples and the whole atmosphere with Buddhism is amazing. We had the best guide ever, and the driver was wonderful. We had a great experience.
