Machu Picchu Extensions: Easter Island and the Galapagos

Machu Picchu

At Adventures Within Reach we are often asked what else you can do after a trip to Machu Picchu in Peru‘s Andes mountains. For travelers with two to three weeks for travel time there are several excellent options including more great itineraries in Peru.

For travelers looking to cross two items off of their “bucket list,” an extension to the Galapagos is a great trip to combine with Machu Picchu. After departing Machu Picchu travelers fly from Cusco to Lima and then connect to either Quito or Guayaquil in Ecuador. After one night in either of these cities you get up early for the flight to the Galapagos.

Easter Island (Rapa Nui) with its famous Moai

Now, thanks to new regularly scheduled air service with LAN, travelers can easily get to Easter Island! Flights run twice a week. They offer travelers the convenience of flying directly from Lima and typically better fares than flights from Santiago.

Contact us to learn more about extending a Peruvian adventure to explore the wonders of Easter Island. Or, for the ultimate trip, consider visiting Machu Picchu, Easter Island and the Galapagos!

My husband and I are interested in traveling to Macchu Picchu and Easter Island…. we are flexible with travel dates. We would like to go next year (2016) but are getting information now. Do you do these type of tours? What is the cost?

    • Shahla,

Yes, we certainly do combine trips to Machu Picchu and Easter Island. The flights to Easter Island originate in Santiago, Chile, but you can fly Lima to Santiago and then over to Easter Island. We will email you some information!

    Hi,

I am looking to go to Machu Picchu, Easter Island, and the Galapagos in July 2016 for 15 days. I am looking for tour packages but need some help with pricing, scheduling, and customization of the tour packages. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    • Eliot,

We can certainly help you with this! If you don’t do the Inca Trail, this can all be done in 15 days. Probably something like: 5-day Galapagos cruise + 7-day Peru with Machu Picchu + 3-day Easter Island. That’s 15 days, but you may have a couple of days for traveling in between the destinations…. We will email you more details!

I’m considering a trip to include Machu Picchu, the Galapagos Islands, and Easter Island. I have very specific travel dates that the trip would have to be within- I can leave Indianapolis on Nov 25, and would have to be back home by Dec. 14. Can you make any recommendations fir this type of trip?
